What happens if I am further away than 70m from a network node?

I currently have Jet wireless internet service, can I convert to fibre?

Yes, absolutely. Once your contract on Jet has expired, our team can switch you over to fibre. Alternatively, we can install a second fibre link that acts as a redundant/backup solution.

Will my fibre internet work if I experience a power failure at my premises?

Unfortunately, the devices inside the house (ONT and router) need to be connected to power to work. However, if you are running off a UPS or generator then you would still have internet connectivity.

Will the installer need to dig a trench to my house/office from the street?

Yes, trenching is required in most scenarios.

How do I know if I fall within the coverage area?

The service is currently available in Windhoek, Swakopmund, Walvis Bay, Otjiwarongo, Okahandja and Grootfontein, however it is continuously expanding. Please send us a mail with your Google map location or drop us a pin via Whatsapp and we will confirm availability.

How long does it take to get connected after I sign up?

Installation normally takes about 6 – 8 weeks. However, if you have urgent need for connectivity, please contact our team so that we can look at providing an interim wireless solution.

Can I get an automatic failover option to go with my fibre connection?

Yes, this can be done either by africaonline firewall or SD WAN solution. Please contact sales to get a costing breakdown for this.

Are download and upload speeds symmetrical?

Yes, it’s a symmetrical service.

How does the Fair Usage Policy (FUP) work?

FUP is our way of ensuring that everyone has equal access to high-speed internet. This ensures everyone is receiving an equitable speed and that no single household is causing the service to bottleneck and slowing it down for others.

Once you reach a certain allocation of data (based on the package contracted for), the Fair Usage Policy will apply. Your internet will be proportionally slower (10% of headline speed) until the end of the calendar month, at which point speed is automatically restored to full headline speed.

Should you wish to be restored to full headline speed immediately after reaching your FUP allowance, a FUP reset can then be purchased which restores your link to full headline speed immediately.
